Named "Meilleur Ouvrier de France" in 2004, and winner of a Michelin star since 2006, Romuald Fassenet and his wife Catherine set themselves up at the Château du Mont Joly in October 2007. A graduate of the Poligny hotel school, he spent some time as chef to the Prime Minister in the Matignon residence, followed by fifteen years moving between France, the USA and Germany, perfecting his art with the best starred chefs, including Manuel Martinez, of La Tour d’Argent, and Jean Paul Jeunet, at Arbois.
His wife Catherine is a sommelier with a diploma from the Château PECAULT Wine Institute at Arbois, and from the hotel schools of Poligny and Besançon, who has served at the best tables of England and France, notably at the Château de Germigney (1 Michelin star), and at the Bec Fin, in Dôle.
Today, Romuald and Catherine are taking a break from their foreign travels with their two little girls in their beautiful house in the heart of the Jura, open to the world. |
